FPA India strengthens a voluntary commitment to advocate for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and choices. It promotes access to information & services related to family planning, safe abortions, HIV/AIDS, and sexuality to poor, marginalised, and vulnerable populations, including the youth.

Family Planning Association of India is a founder member of IPPF. It was established in 1949 and registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950.
